The Fifth Edition of The Golden Stag Festival - 1992 |
After
eleven years of silence the National Television brought back
to life The Golden Stag Festival. The fifth edition took place
in Brasov between June 24th - June 28th, 1992. The organizers
moved the festival from Dramatic Theatre to Sfatului Square,
in the old city, where TV INSTANT BETON built up a huge stage
with 5,000 seats. The Festival's hosts were Ricky Dandel, a
famous international showman born in Romania, Bianca Brad,
television presenter, Tomi Cristin and Ruxandra Enescu.
The
opening cocktail was offered by the mayor at Cetate Restaurant
- a medieval restaurant built inside the
city's old fortress.
The festival was broadcast by: NHK-Japan, Tele 5 -Spain, Finnish National TV,
TVRI Indonesia, Philippine National TV, Lithuanian TV. 36 competitors from
26 countries (Finland, Germany, France, Australia, Ireland, Canada) were enrolled
in the contest for the big trophy, while 150 journalists from Europe and United
States got credentials to write about the festival and its stars.
In
the hors-concurs shows the audience met Patricia
Kaas, Linda Martin, Sisters Sledge, and Romanian artists
like Angela Similea.
Trie Utami from Indonesia was awarded with The Golden
Stag Trophy.
In addition with The Golden Stag Awards, the press awarded
with The Press Prize a group from Moldavia, Doina and
Ion Aldea Teodorovici.
The fifth edition of The Golden Festival ended on June
28th, at the Aro Palace Restaurant, with a dinner party
offered by Razvan Theodorescu, president of
the National Television. |

Patricia
Kaas was born in France's Lorraine region. She began singing
when she was 11.
In 1987, Patricia released her first song, Mademoiselle Chante le Blues, soon
to become a hit.
She was named Female Newcomer of the Year at the Victoires de la Musique, and
her debut album Mademoiselle Chante was awarded with platinum in three countries:
France, Belgium and Switzerland.
Her next song Scene de Vie, reached the French charts in only three months. The
following hit: Je te dis vous (1993).
She made her debut for Sony Classical, Christmas in Vienna, in 1999.
